Coffee and Connection: How It Became a Friday Tradition

It all started with a simple thought: moms need a break. Not just a break to sip coffee while it’s still warm (though that’s definitely part of it) but a chance to connect with other moms in a space free from judgment and overflowing with support. That idea turned into Coffee & Connection, a Friday tradition that has quickly become a highlight of the week for me—and hopefully for many others, too.

Here’s the story of how Coffee & Connection began, why it’s so meaningful, and how it’s creating a ripple effect of community for moms everywhere.

The Birth of Coffee and Connection

Like many great ideas, Coffee and Connection started as a solution to a problem: loneliness. As a mom, I knew how isolating those early parenting years could feel. I didn’t have a built-in support system or a judgment-free zone to vent, laugh, and just be myself. I craved a space where coffee wasn’t just a caffeine boost but a reason to gather, to connect, and to remember we’re not alone in this wild ride called motherhood.

But this idea wasn’t mine alone. While I wanted to create it because I knew what it was like to be alone in your house with your kids, the true spark came from a conversation with Eryn, owner of Orlando Mom. She envisioned a routine, regular gathering for moms to come together—a space where connection wasn’t just encouraged but built into the calendar.

Eryn’s vision of bringing moms together aligned perfectly with mine, and together, we decided on Coffee and Connection. It’s a time and place where moms with babies can come and relax a little, where work-from-home women can step away from the screen to hang out with others, and where anyone—no matter their stage of life—can enjoy the delicious coffee scene in Orlando while connecting with a supportive community.

Coffee and Connection isn’t just an event; it’s a lifeline, a chance to recharge, and a reminder that no mom (or woman) has to do this alone.

Why Coffee and Connection matters

In a world where schedules are packed, and parenting often feels like a race against the clock, Coffee & Connection offers something priceless: time to slow down. Here’s why this Friday tradition has struck such a chord with moms:

  1. It’s about connection, not perfection: At Coffee & Connection, there’s no pressure to be anything but yourself. Messy hair, yoga pants, and tired eyes are welcome. It’s a space where moms can bond over shared experiences without the fear of judgment.

  2. It’s free for everyone: Unlike many events or meet-ups that come with a price tag, Coffee & Connection is completely free. It’s my way of giving back to the mom community and ensuring that no mom feels left out due to financial constraints.

  3. It’s a judgment-free zone: Coffee & Connection embodies the heart of judgment-free parenting. Moms come as they are, share their wins and struggles, and leave feeling seen, supported, and understood.

How Coffee and Connection Is growing

What started as a simple idea has grown into a movement. Every Friday, new moms join in, bringing fresh energy and perspectives to the group. The connections made during these gatherings often extend beyond Fridays, turning into lifelong friendships and support networks.

Thanks to word-of-mouth and the Snackbitches community, Coffee and Connection has become a safe haven for moms who need a reminder that they’re not alone—and that it’s okay to ask for help or just enjoy a cup of coffee in peace.

How you can join Coffee and Connection

If you’re a mom looking for a space to recharge, laugh, and connect, Coffee and Connection is here for you. Whether you join us in person on a Friday or bring the spirit of Coffee & Connection into your own circle of mom friends, the goal is the same: to create a supportive, judgment-free community where every mom feels valued.

Coffee and Connection isn’t just about the coffee (though let’s be real—it’s a lifesaver some days). It’s about building a tradition that reminds moms of their worth, their strength, and the incredible community they can create together.
